New Houston spirit brand Queen Bee makes vodka out of honey

A new spirits brand has made a big entrance onto the scene with a commitment to sustainability. Queen Bee Osmia Vodka is produced by Houston based Queen Bee Distilling, founded by two long-time friends, Catharine Faulconer and Kim Martina. The woman-owned company is dedicated to making female focused luxury spirits, while celebrating the beauty of love and nature.  They state on their website, "The base of our premium spirits is raw honey or organic, non-GMO sources; therefore, everything is gluten free, grain free, nightshade free, chemical free and glycerin free". By using raw, chemical free honey instead of corn, rice, barley, wheat or potatoes, the founders intention is to "save the bees, help our ecosystem by promoting sustainability by cutting water usage, and lower our carbon footprint".

Drinking Wine Does Not Raise Risk of Cancer or Death in Healthy Older Adults

Contrary to recent and highly publicized reports, responsibly drinking wine is not likely to lead to cancer or death. Kenny Martin wrote an article for Wine Spectator that clarified the matter. Many of us have relied on the decades of research that linked light to moderate drinking, especially of wine, to a range of health benefits. There is certainly a scientifically proven health risk when drinking too much alcohol, including a rise in the risk of certain cancers. and that heavy drinking carries serious health risks.
